In case someone here might be interested Mcbride's Guns in Austin had one in stock at noon today in near mint condition. I have two rifles in that caliber already otherwise it would have come with me.

Either $750 or $790. I looked at the price tag but did not think to commit the number to memory. It did have the scope rings attached.

Wow I can remember paying a $150 for one,but that has been a long time ago. That was the caliber I liked in the #3,but I didn't like it enough to keep it.I sold it and doubled my money.

There is one at a store near here , while I like the looks of the Ruger single shots , the number three I had refused to hold a zero from one day to the next . So as a result now I just enjoy looking at other peoples Rugers .... it's cheaper that way .

The #3's are extremely lightweight, and because of that rifle style butt plate are kicking machines.I never enjoyed shooting even the Krag.Would rather shoot my .375 H&H that weighs 9.5 pounds and has a good butt stock and pad.

I had one for years. Had the stock remodeled to resemble a B-78, checkered, sling swivels and a recoil pad added.Used a washer to hold the fore stock off the barrel, added a Leo 1.5 X 5 and worked up a not quite max load with Sierra 180s and 4350.

Deer killing machine. One of those I should have kept.

I still have my "Liberty" model #3 30-40 and have just started shooting it again. This time with some cast loads to see how it does. However since I have just restarted shooting cast loads I have too many irons in the fire to work on one exclusively. Right now my .405 #1 has most of my attention! :-D
