So, all you gunsmiths, professional and amateur, what is/are your favorite book(s) for smithing and stock making & care?

Sorry, don't have (or use) one. Pilkington comes to mind, there's an artist. Waksupi ain't bad neither, will definitely do in a pinch. For stocks that is. I pick the tech guys' minds at Brownell's for the gunsmithing. Or ask Mr. Taylor.

Jame Howe's Gunsmithing and Roy Dunlap, Pistolsmithing. Certainly dated but still very practical information.

try professional stockmaking by david l. westbrook a little pricey (aroud 50.00) but is a very good book. also try looking on you tube a year or so ago i watched a whole set of viedos on there like 10 12 from the same guy from blank to finshed stock

I have the two book set of the modern gunsmith by James Howe. And gunsmithing by Bob Dunlap The two book set dates from 1941 and not sure of the other. I have to agree the info is dated but it's old school. Frank
