Tater tots

They look simple enough. How are they made? Is it potato run through a grinder and formed with some sort of binder like egg?

Cold mashed potatos, eggs, flour, bread crumbs.
Beat a couple of eggs and mix them into the left over mashed potatoes. Form into tots. Roll in bread crumbs. Fry until golden.
