Just wondering if anyone has any experience using Vihtavuori "Tin Star" to reload 38-40, I have an original 1892 winchester that I am wanting to reload for. Thank you and good shooting.

Greetings
Not heard of that one. Have only used Unique, 2400 and my favorite 3F in my 38-40's. Just never branched out beyond that as those three work so well for me.
I will sure look at this off and on to see what you learn.

Tin Star is Vhitavouri's take on Trail Boss. Not interchangeable, but does essentially the same thing. Perhaps if the OP put this somewhere other than the black powder room it would get more responses.

Not many folks have used Tin Star due to its cost and somewhat difficult availability. But there isn't any reason it wouldn't work fine for very low velocity loads. Just like Trail Boss, you can't make ammo as powerful as black powder by using it.

Their site refers to it as high bulk for for filling large black powder cases. http://www.lapua.com/en/products/reloading/en-tin-star

Welcome to the forum! If you'll try again a few notches up under "CB Loads" I think we'll get better responses.
