The pitch fork butt plate is gone and boy does my shoulder love this new butt pad. I had John Worthwine from Chandler,Indiana saw the pitch fork out and put this Pachmayer pad on. While pondering how-to we decided to fill the top void with a piece of deer antler which I plan to have my intials or animal lazered into it. Sure makes shooting those Ranch Dog big boolits alot more fun. By the way they shoot scarey accurate from my 86.

Looks nice Randy, but I hate to say I beat you to the Antler Idea I did the same to my 54 cal caplock that I made from parts with a Green Mountain Ball twist Barrel 1/70. The stock I bought cheap from a friend who bought a bunch of them at an auction and they were cut for a certain butt plate, different than what I had so I used an Antler filler for the inch that was missing in the same spot. I would suppose we are not the first to do such a thing. :) I built that caplock about at least 5 years ago.

I thought of having my initials lasered onto the antler but I am working on a Ak or Africa trip in the next year or so and thought I would have the first real big game animal put on the antler piece for memories. With Ranchdogs 420grn bullet that gun shoots scarey groups. I have some targets I saved and will post them in the next day or so.
I have the B92 in 44 mag getting ready for some of the same treatment.
Post a pic of that muzzleloader so we can all enjoy.
