A friend of mine, a single lady, answered her door yesterday and found two male strangers at her doorstep. They asked a few questions and they chatted for a while. In talking to these young men she let it slip that she was a single lady living alone.

When she realized what she had done she became very concerned/afraid and asked for prayer from our fellowship. Part of my scheduled reading today was Psalms 27 which is a Psalm requesting protection. So I was able to lift her up with these verses in mind.

So, for this lady and those you know that are needy in this area ( arn't we all ) I ask you to join me in prayer for them.

This is my first post. Thanks for this thread.

Wayne, I'm in North Texas. I don't feel too confident posting the exact location without her permission, which incidentally I don't think I would get. PM me if you have ideas. Thanks to all who have lifted her in prayer. May you be blessed.

I'm wanting to offer prayers too for the lady and all of our loved ones that might get that feeling of needing protection.

In addition to prayers may I suggest you advise her to never open the door to strangers?

This is my doorbell and answerer.

I hate this world in that we have to be scared to answer our door! Where I live we are nice friendly people and not used to having to be on guard all the time. Sometimes I catch myself saying more than I ort to.
Me, I am kinda scarey too and people that don't know me usually don't give me any grief.

Prayer sent, we all need protection for sure. As for a defense, I like the idea of a gun and dog. If nothing else, a big old can of wasp spray if she is uncomfortable with either of the aforementioned. That 25' stream to the face should be enough to back someone up, and it doesn't look suspicious sitting by the front door.

The wasp spray is a great idea. If she doesn't have an alarm system, I'd also suggest you look for some battery powered door and window alarms for her. They are basically just a magnetic switch and a loud buzzer. A motion detector alarm might also be helpful. There are a lot of options that don't cost much.
