What's this (yep, another one)

Can any of you identify this metal by the markings? I'm hoping that the "S" means either stereotype or tin, but I don't deal with commercial alloys enough to know. The hardness is above COWW. I don't have a free melting pot right now to check the melt point, and don't really want to destroy the markings 'til I know what it is anyway. Thanks

Possibly either the remains of an alloy ingot used for sweetening used linotype at the typesetters- high in tin and antimony- or else some sort of babbitt. I've seen similar, and have a number of them, but I can't get them to spell anything.
