I just got my first hoch mould. Could anyone tell me how much tenson should be on the sprue plate?Right now it will swing open on its own. thinks bill

That's how mine are. Mine cast better that way.

Mine does as well. Justfree enough to move of its own accord if the mould is tipped over when cold.

All sprue plates should be able to swing freely when the mould is at operating temperature, otherwise they will trap air giving poor bullet fill out.
