Is there anyone swaging right now. Every thing is on the way. The rifle is being built, reloading components are in the mail. Swaging dies ordered. I want to buy a press, but who is swaging now and what press are you using?

Thanks,
Bill

RCE's Walnut Hill. Money well spent.

Waiting. BT's remaining dies and U.P. North's press ordered.

that round shoots cast boolits very well. I'd say casting is far easier than swaging.
Will shoot this big 420 grain boolit at freakishly high velocity. Pretty much a 45-70 in an AR platform.

Just bill,
Stay on this forum, but check other threads for positive casting info.
Many will say you can't do something becasue they were afraid to try it.

Gabby,

I must be in a parallel universe. I am trying to find a mold(s) and gaschecks. Every where I look the molds are out of stock and the largest gaschecks are .45???, any help.

Thanks,

Bill

45 caliber gas checks are made to fit on .458 bullets.

Bullet shown in post #4 is from a group buy Lee. A few of the custom mold makers like Accurate molds have similar if not the same bullet. You will be looking for .458" molds for a 45-70. Not .452" for revolvers like 45 Colt.

JB .. There is a group buy available rite now for an NOE mould http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?127242-NOE-460483-Round-Nosed-Gas-Checked-Group-Buy-is-Here

I too need a mould for the 458 SOCOM and I believe the above mould should do nicely !! don't wait to long because this GB closes soon !!!! Coltman

PS Blammer is one our Gas Checks suppliers and one of our forum venders and a great guy to deal with !!

BT's dies work great. These have not been cleaned up yet and they look great aftercleaning.

I'm using Lee 44 cal TL bullet molds for mine with soft lead.
