I didn't like the idea of using loading trays because the trays only allowed you to grab one at a time when seating. I usually like to grab 5 at a time which is much faster. Due to this, I came up with an alternative method to loading the jackets with the cores. See video below.

But you still have to load cores & jackets one at a time??

If you mean that I still have to lay them on the block, yes, but it goes quick. I grab a handful at a time. I may spend a tad more time doing that, but once the lead cores are inside the jackets I'm able to grab several at a time whereas the loading tray guys are grabbing one at a time and going back and forth for each one.

I had never thought of that. Will have to remember this when I get all set up.

Not a bad idea there at all.

Thanks guys. If you want to make one of these loading blocks, here's some details to help:

Using a 1/4" diameter ball end mill, mill all the slots 1/4" on center spacing. I initially milled all the slots 50 thou deep, then I came back to each slot and milled down another 10 thou in the area where the jackets sit. This puts the lead cores 10 thou higher (the same thickness of the jacket wall).

Thanks! I'm thinking about selling all my swaging stuff. If I do, this loader will be one of the things going.
