For those who have used the small primered 45 auto, is there any adjustment on powder charge or just use the large primer data? Got a bunch to load but need to know before I stuff them.

I've used the same charge, same results on paper.

I have used 45 ACP small primer brass with both Bullseye and Promo loads I use with large primer brass and saw no difference. After reading posts here and after testing a few....I recently shot several hundred 45 ACP small primer brass using Lyman 452374 and 452630 over Promo 4.5 gr. using CCI 550 small pistol mag primers. Worked great. Saw no difference in function or accuracy.

I use the same loads with no change either at the target or over the chronograph.

Got my Glock 30 with Lyman 452374 and 452630 using PROMO 4.5 gr with both Federal Large Pistol and CCI Small Pistol Mag primers over a chronograph this afternoon . The 452374 clocked @ 770 fps and the average difference between the two primers was 2 fps. The 452630 ran at @ 800 fps the difference in average velocity was 18 fps between the two. My G30 has no problem with the 452630 SWC.

My experience with the MP H&G 68 clone and 6.5 grains of Unique mirrors that of Ed shot. There was no discernable difference in accuracy, and the difference in velocity was smaller than the Extreme Spread of either primer individually. I now discard all small pistol 45 ACP though, one slipped past me and the primer detonated when I attempted to reprime a Larpe Pistol Primer in a small pistol pocket. I've plenty of LP brass, so I will be on the lookout for the SP stuff and discard it. It is too much trouble to swap out primer assemblies for a handful of cases.

I use both SP and LP 45 ACP brass, and will keep a supply of both, as I want to be prepared in the event that available supplies of components shift one way or the other. In fact, it's been very difficult to find primers from time to time lately. Sometimes I can get LP only, sometimes SP only, sometimes both, sometimes neither.

They both shoot fine, no discernible difference, and I believe Ed_Shot's chrony info concurs.

Same charge and no differences. I think it's published somewhere to use the same load data. Just can't quite remember where I read ir

My experience has mirrored those above. I see no real world difference and load both the same, save primers size, of course.

I've used 45acp sp with Promo, Bullseye, 231, Unique and Universal and have not noticed any difference. I do not have a strain gauge or screen, however.

Set the SP stuff aside and I will pay shipping if you don't want it

I set mine aside and decided to load up a bunch before I took a trip to my Brothers house in Atlanta. We were going to an indoor range and I didn't know if I would get my brass back or not. Didn't notice any difference, but now I have them all cleaned up and primed again.

I have been making all my small primer 45 brass into 400 corbon so I can push a small rifle primer in the pocket. But there is no difference when loading it for 45 . just a pain swapping the press over or running into a small pocket when you are sizing large pocket
