I made up 4 of these using stainless cups from walmart. The cups are four for .98 cents. I used some old hedge clipper handles and mounted them to wood blocks. The blocks aid in keeping heat down . So far I have used these about 20 times each, a light tap with a wood mallet knocks them rite out They look like they are brand new no dents easy to use. Filled to the top of the cup they weigh 1.2 lbs each . Four to the rack gives me over 16 lb of ingots. I got the idea of off this forum I just changed it by adding the wood handles and mounting them on blocks tks KEN

How did you mount them to the wood block?

Drill a small hole in the bottom and use a wood screw .I thought the screw head would cause a hang up but they pop out with a few bangs on the bottom of the wood block. Total cost 4.15 with md tax tks ken

Looks good! I just recently mounted 16 of mine on two long strips of aluminum, eight on each, that are sturdy enough not to bend. I was wondering if the screw heads would pose a problem releasing the ingots as I haven't tried my setup yet.

Sounds like it will be GTG.

No problem with the screw heads the ingots pop rite out. That's the idea of the heavy wood base or block just bang the base with a wood mallet tks ken

The problem I had, was the heat in the screw holding the cups to the wood eventualy chared the hole and the screw got loose and came out.

Looks good but the wood underneeath is burning on every pour. A thru bolt will hep it last longer.

Pretty cool 27. Coincidentally I bought 16 of those condiment cups at WM a few days ago, thinking of the same thing. I goof with ingot molds for fun and have several different shapes of muffin pans and a couple of silicone ice cube molds that I used. The silicone molds only lasted 4-5 ingot-makings but the cubes are kinda cool. Based on your post I think I'll screw them to an aluminum something and have another ingot shape. Tonight after casting some 230gr 45s I emptied the pot into 2 of the cups. Look like big truncated cones. I left about 1/4 inch at the top so the ingots would easily fall out by tapping them upside down on the garage floor.

I think I will take the advice and use thru bolts in place of the screws. Ill counter sink the nuts and washers so they sit flat . These things will last for a long time using good hardwood for the base tks Ken
