I'm getting a custom mold designed based off a Lee 10mm 175TC. I need the following dimensions to calculate the volume of a TC:
d= meplat diameter
D=shoulder (where the cone starts) to meplat
O=OAL of the bullet
I assume the width of the cone to be at bullet diameter which is .401, so I just need the above two dimensions.
I plan on getting a 6-banger of basically a 200-215gr TC with a .375 meplat set at 3deg of draft. Lube grooves deep are .015" according to Lee and nose diameter must be .010" minumum smaller than this.
So .401" (bullet diam) minus .015" (groove depth) equals .386" and to be at least .010" less than this for nose diameter means my meplat has to be .376" or smaller and I'm electing .375" a nice round number (3/8").
Thanks for your help.
