I am looking to find out how functional the new Lee case trimmer is. It looks like it could be very handy. The only problem I can see is it is very case specific.

I have the 45 Colt and 454 Casull dies but I'm still waiting for the 45-70 Gov. I like it a lot personally and much easier than the original Lee method of sizing brass as well as faster. I very well might pick up the 9mm and 45 ACP down the road also but rarely have to re size it except with new brass.

Oh and you only need one cutter and buy the dies (fairly inexpensive to fit the brass).

I have been using the new Lee Quick Trim for .223. Once you get it set up it works well. For .223 you have to remove the ball bearing in the handle to take some of the pressure off the cutters. I was trimming to as short as the quick trim would go, 1.741 for my X die. It was holding within -.001" +.002" which is pretty good. Some of the cases still had a small bur on the outside edge but the inside was good. It did cut smooth with no chatter marks. Have a .40sw die I am going to try on .357sig.
