Just looking for the short answer, I know it's not big but I've been wondering and can't find the answer anywhere.

Single cavity, below 170 grains, maybe. It's just too small to fool with for most casting. I never measured a full pour from one. When you get that small the melt cools too much too quickly to suit me. Of course all of this is just an old grump's raving!

So with a single pour not even enough to fill a 230 gr 45 slug?

I don't know either but it's really small. I suspect you could fill a 230 grain mold, but no way on a 45-70 boolit. An E-Mail to Lee would probably get you an answer though...Ray

Never measured mine -only use it to scrape the sides of the pot. I'd guess 300-400 filled all the way. Maybe 150-200gr useable capacity. Id want something bigger if using it to pour in a mold. It's a good accessory for the 10 lbs pot.

I can fill two 158gr cavities with mine with a nice size pool on the sprue plate.

You can definitely fill a 230 gn hole but thats about it. I have one but I don't use it. Kind of a useless item. Super tiny and super thin.

Cheap ********! Do it right the first time and buy either the Lyman or RCBS dipper.

How much does it hold? No idea.

But it does work well for a 2 cavity 230 grain 45 ACP mold, at least in my experience. YMMV

Sounds like some Lee haters here, so I'll chime in. My Lee ladle served me quite well for all the time I used a ladle (and yes, I have both the Lyman and RCBS ladles, purchased after I went to a bottom pour and was experimenting with ladles again). I started with a Lee 240 gr SWC 2 cavity mold and it took two "dips" to fill; one dip per cavity. No problems there. I could see no advantage to dipping a full ounce of lead to fill a 260 grain cavity.

CAST BOOLITS Forum is getting to be a much rougher crowd over the past couple years !
Getting myself labeled a "cheap bastard” and a “LEE hater” all in the same thread is quite ironic ! :) :)

I have several RCBS ladles plus Rowell #1, #2, #3, #6, and #8 !
They were not especially “cheap” ! If you own a #9 though will accept your label ! ;) ;)
