OK guys, show me your craziest slugs tested or even just ideas !

I've eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new H&R slug hunter so am researching cast slugs (sabot and full bore), got me thinking of weird, wonderful and sinister ideas for homemade slugs,eg. Steel core, ball bearing tip, foster full of #4's, dual alloy etc etc

first 2 pictures is an autoreducing slug, than can be fired in any choke. The stabilizing rings reduce with the restriction of the choke. Very accurate at 50 meters.

Third picture shows , from the left : copper sabot, lee 1 oz, Lyman sabot, and adjustable lenght and weight chiroslug to be loaded in plastic wad.

Full-bore Lyman Sabot, drops at 665 grains and .735". Will size these down to .732" and shoot them through a .729" fully rifled bore, a project that has been shelved for now. It will be interesting to see what this slug will do to hogs at short range with the wrong side up i.e the HB pointing up!! So I'm yet to try these out on paper, much less game, but I have a good feeling about this design.. the copper tapered spacer next to the slug has inspired another design that's on the anvil!!

Hello Ithaca Gunner. I made the mold myself with the help of a friend that has a lathe. Outside diameter of the reducing ring is 18.20 mm. .716 inch. The main body is 16.00 mm .630.

The mold has a pin that makes it hollow inside that is adjustable, therefore i can make them longer and heavier or shorter and lighter. The one you see weights 31 grams (a bit less then 1 1/8 oz)

It is so simple and convenient that i do not know whey lee or lyman have not done one similar!!

I've always been curious about a shotgun-size long-rod penetrator round, aka, a baby-size version of the Abrahms tank round.

You asked for it. This is the "weirdest" or craziest slug /mould I have made and tried. this was for smoothbore though and did not work well. I doubt it would do well from rifled gun without some form of driving bands.
