I'd like to hear from somebody that casts for this cartridge. I'm thinking of venturing into casting for the little quarter-bore, but I'm not sure it's worth it. All my cast boolits have been 30 cal and larger. Is this worth-while or futile? What say you?

It's very worth while. The .257 Roberts and the 25-06 both do well with boolits in the 100 to 120gr.

My wife shoots a .25-06, and I bought a SAECO mold for it. Makes it fun and cheap for her to practice with. Somehow this business of shooting one round a year to kill her deer just didn't seem proper to me, but my wife is a very practical woman. Every time the subject comes up she says "How many times did I tell you to buy more primers?"

I will have to agree... an excellent cartridge for cast use. I like the Lyman 257312 myself.
