I'm casting a 45 cal lbt 270 keith bullet and having a heck of a time with this bullet loaded down, still fairly new to casting but I'm having good luck with this bullet at max loads. 7 gr titegroup or 10 gr of unique ,I get the same results shoots, all over at 100 yrds. max loads of 2400 orH110 shoot great at the same range. the gun is a ruger Blackhawk.
Cylinder throats are reamed, bullet sized to the throats, firelapped the barrel, don't know what else to try. WW lead waterdropped, I don't get any leading so I guess I don't really know whats going on. Any ideas?

I would think the velocity is too low to stabilize the boolit. Not for sure, but that is my guess.

When you say "loaded down", how far down does that mean? What is the velocity and load you are attempting?

A softer alloy is worth trying also.

May be too hard. Stop water dropping. Try throat +.001, too.

Simply no need to shoot a water dropped 270gr bullet in .45 Colt. The BHN would be very high. I shoot the very same bullets, and my bullets never exceed a BHN of about 11.
