Ever broke/stripped 1 out ??

While putzing around & cleanin up a bit I bumped mine & it stripped/broke the threaded part of the hopper , I`ve only stripped 1 out in the yrs. I`ve been reloading .

Things as they are I did`nt even check if any were "instock" I just grabbed my JB Qwik & fixed it .

Better/ faster/stronger !! - - - - not purty though !

Let me say this ,I don`t remove the hopper to change discs ,I remove the spring & lift the unit up until the arm disegages the disc .

Yeah have to be careful, easy to strip those plastic threads. Looks like they could make some type of metal base for those hoppers so you could have metal on metal threading? Would probably increase the cost quite a bit though.

Looks familiar. I just received two of the hoppers from LEE today. I can't complain as I have been using the first one since 1990 or thereabouts. I think I am going to tap one 6-32 and epoxy a piece of 6-32 all-thread in place and make a couple of knurled nuts like they use on the newer model. Should last longer and be easier to change out.

I believe Lee makes an upgrade kit for this.

^Yep, I don't use the regular auto disk, I use the Pro auto disk with the micrometer powder bar, works pretty well.
For some pistol rounds though, i use an old dillon powder measure that is case activated, works great!!

I've used the charge bar and never had to unscrew anything until i dropped the dang thing... :D I have 2 spares now and I use my lee standalone powder measre for anything that exceeds the charge bar's capacity. Good on-the-fly thinking tho!

I have 3 of these powder measures, I've upgraded the 2 standard ones to the pro configuration. I prefer the pro version as I change disks constantly and having the knurled nuts works MUCH better than the screws, besides the pro version has the wiper and shutoff
