My custom sizing die in .460 arrived today from Buckshot. Yeah!! Very nice. I was able to size, lube and instal gas checks on the bullets I have been casting. My first complete bullet....70978
After running it through the die my caliper showed it to be .460 exactly :D

I am using an old 450 lubesizer. I cleaned the old lube out and everything was moving right along until 15 bullets in....snap, Dang, I broke the linkage / handle. I was leaning into it to seat the gas checks.

So, What do you guys recommend I do? I'd like to stay with equipment that will use the same sizing dies and top punches as the Lymans since I am now invested in that platform. Should I get a 4500?
help....:-(

You can buy replacement parts for the 450 direct from Lyman. http://www.lymanproducts.com/store/page150.html
They have a replacement handle for the 4500/450 for $10.00 plus $4.00 shipping. Their prices are very reasonable for parts to fix your sizer.

I couldn't believe I broke it just as I got up and running..

Rats, I was placing the order when I saw that the handle is for the 4500 only...
My handle does not look like either in the parts diagrams in this thread, even the 450 diagram. http://http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?85429-45-Lyman-Lubesizer-HELP.Lyman must have had different handles on the 450.
Looks like I'm going to have to buy a 4500 this week.

Get the RCBS instead, uses the same dies and top punches but is more robust and I've not heard of a handle breaking.

You may have to call them but they do make a conversion kit to replace the handle assembly see this thread http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?195448-Is-this-old-Lyman-450-worth-fixing&p=2169161&viewfull=1#post2169161

Thanks guys. I know of a 4500 for sale near me but can't find a RCBS online in stock anywhere.
I will give Lyman a call tomorrow about the handle upgrade but may get a new one if I can too as down time stinks.
