I found this in the lead dumpster at the scrap yard.
It measures .50.
Is all that space a lube groove?
Also there is no crimp groove.
How was this thing seated?

Most intriguing.

TC Maxi Ball, both grooves are for the heaps of BP lube needed. I have that mold...Should be cast of pure lead...

Yup, it's the TC Maxi Ball. I cast 'em and shoot'em in my TC Blk Mtn Magnum at 1570 fps. With some softer lubes you lube both grooves but I just lube the bottom groove with my own BP lube (5 parts beeswax to 4 parts virgin olive oil). Phot shows 6 shots (1st down the clean barrel, next 5 out of the speed loaders) at 100 yards. Thumps deer, elk and bears really good.....coyote's too!
