A 535 Creedmoor cast boolit with 4 lube areas, when seating I only have 3 lube areas inside the boolit. Do you need to lube the 4th area or does it matter? (using Black Powder) beng

Probably depends on the length of your barrel. Do you have a lube star with three filled?

It's 34" heavy 1-18 Green Mountain barrel and 3 filled

Shoot it and let us know what your lube star is. The type of lube will make a big difference. If you don't have a lube star you need to change lubes or fill that other lube groove.

I would think that if you can keep them free of contamination, lube them all. If they are to be "used" (ie. hunting) I'd lube those covered in the case. Test 'em both and decide.

The lube star is going to answer your question better than any of us here can. If you have a lube star with 3 grooves filled you're golden, if you don't, you're not.
