You know it had to happen eventually. I got whiffs of this type of tech back in 2000 when I was still active duty.

The "Smart Rifle" is here. Called the "PGF" for Precision Guided Firearm, it retails for $22,500. Made by a company called Tracking Point. The CEO is making some big claims... says that green, novice shooters will be able to shoot like seasoned snipers with their hi-tech, gee whiz, go fast rifles right out of the box.

Predictably, the anti's are all up in arms about this hi-speed, low drag rifle.

Saw that at the SHOT show. Pretty dumb and rather unsafe. Pull the trigger and the rifle doesn't fire until it's pointed at the target? Not for me, thanks. Plus it doesn't dope wind. Anybody can dial for elevation, it's figuring out the wind that makes good shooters. Pretty pointless device I would say.

Well I had ordered a dozen of them yesterday, but after reading Nobades assessment I think I will cancel that order. lol

I don't see a huge market for these.
