I like the 4 5/8 barrel the most myself. I always wanted a convertible version. Load that sucker up with some 250 grain keiths and some unique and you are set.

Great gun! You're going to be pleasantly surprised at the accuracy the 45acp cylinder gives you.

The only thing better is an Accusport stainless Bisley Blackhawk with both cylinders.

Very nice shooten iron! The versatility of 2 cylinders in .45, you can go up or down to your hearts content!

I've got to start somewhere on this one........... ? ? ?

I think my 1st place to look will be with the ACP cylinder and some of these SAECO 200 gr. HP's sized .452 " Some light charges of Clays or B'Eye to start things off.

A few of these IDEAL 454424 HP's in the Long Colt cases may show some promise also .

That is sweet Ben. I've thought long and hard about the same thing. Something about 45 acp in a revolver.

Ben that is very nice looking HP! I will be looking forward to hearing how they perform. Here is one of my pet loads "200gr BBWC .45 ACP 4.3gr Trail Boss 742 fps STD D 17 fps" that's out of a converted 1858 Remington. I know some have not had great luck with TB but I have. YMMV

Dean, you are correct there is something special about shooting 45 ACP from a revolver, the 2 Remington's I have converted are my favorite revolvers hands down!

I wish I had gotten one of those instead of my 5½" Vaquero, although I did find a cylinder to fit for .45 ACP.

I have the same revolver except I don't have the 45 ACP cylinder. Mine is a great shooter. I don't hot rod it much these days, gets tough on the wrists for me.
Mine has gone on many a deer hunt with me, even got to take a couple deer.

I've got the same exact thing in .357 mag. I love that gun so much and it's a great shooter! Wish I had this conversion though. Looks fun!

Mine does well enough with a 290 flat nose and 10 gr of surplus 105 powder. Goes around 850 to 900 fps. Hits hard but is easy to shoot well.
The heavy H110 loads just aren't fun to me.

I bought mine a year or two back, one of the "Lipsey's" specials. I bought it just to shoot acp's, the .45 colt cyl is a "virgin". I'm not a real cowboy though, I need dot sights.

Yes, I think you're correct, I'm liking this one more and more as the clock ticks.

I've been loading some light 45 ACP target loads. I even have some 45 L/C loads on hand also. So, .....I might take both cylinders with me on the next range trip and fire both rounds.

I'm anxious to head to the range and " run the Blackhawk through its paces."

Nice Ben! I just ordered one of the previously mentioned stainless bisley blackhawks 5.5" with both cylinders. I am looking forward to getting it in a week or 2. Look forward to your report as well.

Now if Ruger would just make one just like the 45 I ordered but in 357/9mm, I would be content for a while.

Thanks Billy,

I should have a range report on this one very soon.

I just picked up the same setup with an extra ACP cylinder which will be rechambered to 460 ROWLAND.

I really like the convertible cylinder Rugers. I also have convertibles in 38-40 / 10 MM and 32-20 / 32 H&R Mag. I would like to find an additional cylinder in 32 H&R Mag that would be rechambered to 327 Magnum.

I have the same gun in 357/9mm. The 357 shoots very well. With factory ammo the 9mm is just sad. Lucky to score a hit on the backstop with it.

I had one of those years ago and traded it for my 5-1/2" Stainless Bisley.
I love my Bisley, but those 4-5/8" Convertibles may be one of the most practical handguns ever built.
I'll have one on the smaller flattop frame or a new Vaquero....someday.....
