I am needing a crimp die for .380 ACP but don't know which. I have heard that the Lee pistol FCD's will swage boolits down, but have not used one myself. I will be sizing to .358", and already fired some test rounds using a .38 Super crimp/seat die to apply a light crimp by setting the case on top of the shellholder to get it far enough in. It was a pain to do that. I have seen that Redding makes a dedicated taper crimp die.

Use the taper crimp die regardless of the brand! It's so much easier to adjust correctly and get the proper crimp. I have found it to be worth the money.

Taper crimp only, Don't use the fcd on cast boolits it will swage em down and cause leading.

Lee Factory Crimp Die. For the 380 it puts a taper crimp on bullet. Foolproof! Awesome!

+1! No need for an FCD...
