mounting a scope on a buffalo classic

I was going to mount a scope on my B.C. just to see what it will do with a scope . I layed it out on the bench and it looks to me just by eyeballing it that the tang on the hammer will not clear the rear bell on the scope with the rings i have. does this rifle require a higher set of rings than a marlin 1895?

It is not related directly to the Marlin since the scope eye piece and the thickness of the mount base also affects the height of the rings needed.

The range is the thing. If you shoot 100-200 yards, a Weaver mount will serve you well.
If you want to shoot 1000 yards, the options shrink.

I had to go to a HIGH scope mount, but it works fine.
