Hi Matt
2.105 is the max case length for the 45/70 so you are all good I usually trim mine to right around 2.095. More important is that your cases are all of a uniform length for crimping, if you are using a crimp. Also if these are for a lever gun you may need to make sure your overall cartridge length is under 2.55 to feed & clear the lands. Good Luck to you.

No it will not cause you problems unless your chamber is cut to excessive length. Then you may get some leading caused by the short case/long chamber thing. But if the chamber on that rifle is cut to saami spec you will have no problem due to case length.

It won't cause any 'safety' problems.

When you fire a case with a 2.095" length, it will probably be even shorter after firing.
Whether that will cause leading problems is something you will find out.

If you would do a chamber cast of that rifle, you will know the 'perfect' length for cases in that gun.

Have you measured your brass after fl sizing it?

This is even true for 2.10 new brass. After many reloads, I get cases that shorten to 2.085 and 2.090

isn't this a strange event? I have noticed the same thing and it fly's in the face of everything learned about re-loading. a case shortens after firing??? it does so... but... ill be hanged if I know why...they SHOULD lengthen.

They get shorter as they expand in diameter to fit the chamber. In tighter chambers you'll see less of that. When you resize the brass will be reduced in diameter and they'll lengthen again.

None of that is related to stretching upon firing which can happen too.

With respect to case length you'll just have to try it. My Shiloh in .45-70 is very accurate when shooting fireformed Starline brass at 2.097" long. I load it so that there is a lube groove showing slightly at the case mouth. Some say this prevents leading and it seems to work for me.
