Nothing better than an evening out with your 30-30 cast boolits and some ground squirrels. Well mabey not.... if you're a ground squirrel

No better way to spend a day that's for sure. I love my late afternoon wood chuck hunts you don't get the number of shots you would on ground rats but its a blast and using home rolled boolits makes it that much better. Ever seen a .35 REM and a woodchuck collision?

My bet is the woodchuck wins.... NOT

yep the rcbs 30-150 rnfp makes a mess outta ground squirrels.
it's a bit more satisfying sneaking close to a couple of them, than it is clocking them out at 150 yds.

Young woodchuck makes some fine eating. Ten pounds and under. Cook like they were squirrels or rabbits.
Braising is the preferred method.
I once had a Swedish Mauser chambered for .35 Rem with a 24 inch barrel. With a full tilt load under a 125 JHP, whistle pigs vanished into pink mist up to a hundred yards. I used a .22 rf for pot hunting.
