I prefer Wheel Weight lead I cast for 45 ACP and 9MM. It does depend on what your casting for though. Guys that cast for black Powder guns like Soft Lead.

Yep, depends what I am using it for!

Isotope, Linotype and Solder are best for making high quality alloys of known content!

COWW Lead is best for inexpensive reloads!

Soft Lead and SOWW Lead are best for Muzzle Loaders and making 25:1 alloy for Hollow Points!

For me the "Known Content" issue is the greatest draw so Istope Lead, Linotype and Solder get top billing. The Antimony in COWW makes them next, for the hardness!

Soft Lead is last, to use it for anything but Muzzle Loader bullets, I have to add more expensive alloys! If given a choice, Soft Lead is the last one I'd buy!

They both have their uses.
My general casting alloy is 50-50 WW to pure. If you've got a good fit and it's lubed up good there's no issues.
