I've looked at the Kelly Kettle for years....... and finally bought one. Neat little thing, hot boiling water in 4-5 minutes in the woods. Now I need some help. I would like some recipes of dry ingredients that only need hot water to make. The normal tea, coffee, hot chocolate, bullion cube with hot water are covered.

Well isn't that just neater than pockets on a shirt.
Cup o noodles. At the moment that's all the help I am. Maybe I'll get my brain in gear later.

My staple seems to be a couple hands full of rice, a couple bouillon cubes, some dried onion, garlic, and peppers. Add a can of chicken breast or ham, and some spices. Good, but I eat it all the time and am also looking for variety.

This sounds like it would be a good idea for gifts for my college kids. "Just add water" works for them.

This is supposed to be the equivalent of the commercial onion soup. Ran across it when I was wanting to season ground venison and found I was out of the onion soup. I leave out the boullion when I am seasoning the meat. Also, it has no salt, as you can see, other than the boullion. This lets me add my favorite steak seasoning to the meat. Put this in with some noodles or rice, I think it would be delicious. Also, the individual packs of oatmeal is good for breakfast, although one isn't enough for me.

4 teaspoons beef boullion
8 teaspoons dried onion flakes
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

How about some mountain house foods. They are quick and work great http://www.mountainfoodstorage.com/?gclid=CKO4i5OOobcCFQWk4AodrQoAkg

For a base get instant rice, cous cous, and small bulgar. Add one cup of either to a quart zip lock bag.

Add a package of dried soup, open a can of ham chunks, chicken breast, tuna, shrimp or crab meat. Add 2 cups of boiling water. Zip up bag, wait 15 minutes and dig in.

For breakfast, add grits, cream of wheat or instant oatmeal to the bag, add any dried fruit, sugar, milk powder and a cup of boiling water. Wait 15 minutes and dig in.

A great meal is chicken curry. Add one cup of instant rice, a can of chicken breast, curry MIX(not powder) raisins and dried coconut. Add two cups boiling water, wait 15 minutes and dig in.

I used to have a presentation that I did for boy scout and Royal Ranger groups. They provided boiling water and took notes. Dried meals in yuppie campus fashion stores cost six bucks. You can buy bulk and provide a breakfast and dinner as described above for three bucks per day if you shop specials. If you want to travel light, depend on local water to be purified by boiling, filtering or chemical treatment as needed.

If no boiling water is available, add cold water in the morning and place the bag inside your shirt until dinner time. Everything will be dissolved and ready to eat after several hours.

How about hard boiled eggs?

Edit- after checking out the Kelly Kettle (really cool!) I feel I should clarify the egg procedure. Put the egg in a cup and pour the boiling water over it. It will probably take 20 minutes but it should hard boil.
