Anyone interested in boolit swapping? I'd like to try some of the LEE black out bullets. I have various offerings in 30, 357, 375 and 44. PM if interested in working something out.

You pm me your address, and I'll be more than happy to send you some when my mold comes in. I've got some 170gr casts I'll throw in for you to try also. I'll send you 50 or so each for you to try out. Don't need any swapping, just want to help you out here.

Got mine in, cast some up and i still can't get my AR 's bolt to fully close.....This is the 2nd mold, and still having problems. Even using j-words, same problem happens. Looks like it's engaging rifling and thats even seating it to a depth of 1.990. Getting very aggravated with it, that's for sure!

I fasted my very first boolits with this mold earlier this week. My "mentor" and I discovered that the lead had to be a good bit hotter than what he said he normally cast pistol boolits at.

We casted and powder coated a hundred or so, but we have not gotten around to test firing any of them. Actually, I'm a barrel and some small parts away from even having my .300 completed, so it will be a while before I get to do any test firing.

Is it necessary to expand the case necks with these (or any other 300 Blk or 308 Win) boolits?

Yes. Order the universal case expanding die from lee- read the instructions- good to go. Did you check headspace? Slug your bore? What brass are you using? Crimping?

Bolt not closing could be a multitude of problems.

Thanks for the link... I actually don't even have a 300 Blk yet, I'm a barrel shy of having it up and running. I'm just trying to get ahead of the game as far as ammo is concerned.

So far I've casted a good number of the 230's and a pile of 155's. ill be using hornady dies, a lee factory crimp die (if needed) and Win296 powder. I'm reforming 5.56 brass for cases.

You want the lee FCD. I've tried every one I load with and without. Now its always with. Shone sub loads wouldn't function w/o a mild crimp in my case. With jacketed loads, groups shrank, not alot but they shrank.
