I've been searching for load data but can't find much. Im using 20/28, unique, and clays. Red gas seals also using the 2 pedal wad from bpi and .54 ball that's close to half an ounce.

Forget about Clays. It will be too fast for the 20 ga.

If it was me, I would contact Ben at Alliant and he responds in a day or two.

Good morning Silas, Dverna is right about Clay's and I do not even touch that powder as its no good for RB / Slug loads, if you are shooting Trap or Clays then its ok, I dont!

The red OP wad has two holes and will have gases blow-by through them if you do not really put a hard nitro card above it, I found a good percentage of those wads did not fill completely during the molding process!

While developing good hunting loads we put in so much efforts that we can't have any component that will not live up to our expectation and cause a failure!
Mixing and matching components while hoping they will fit does not help either:

We are working on getting components custom made for a better fit etc for our Slug Shooter's family, any thing good takes time.

What makes it undesirable? If the ball weights less than the shot load shouldn't it get good velocity? Also, has any one used hogden 50bmg powder in a shotshell? Its very very slow burning. Also, im going to do some experiments with that spray river sealant. You know the stuff that can make a boat with a screen bottom float.
Ajay, I ordered them before I read all of your info on them. And I have done various components on top.

I'm pretty sure that 50 bmg powder will likely not work in a shotshell.. The slowest powder I've seen in the 20 is either Blue Dot, HS7, Longshot, etc which are a LOT faster than any rifle powder.. You'll see Lil'gun/296/2400/4227 for the 410 but usually not in anything larger.

Are you meaning Universal Clays or Clays? Clays will not work - period.

Hello Silas, the powder's that will shine in 20 gauge RB load are HS-6, LongShot, WSF, 4756, H. Universal and Blue Dot are very good to 1700 + fps, Herco is good to 1600 fps and Unique just Ok to 1500 + fps.

Silas,
Listen to the guys above!!! You can play a little wads, card, etc but you can blow up your gun close to your face by using powder not appropriate for your application. Not being a prude, but buy, borrow or beg a couple of basic shotshell reloading manuals and have as a reference. Here's a PDF you can download free for powders..... http://hodgdon.com/PDF/Hodgdon%20Basic%20Manual.pdf

The powder is hogden international clays technology. I am waiting on a few manuals from my uncle right now. When the wife allows me to spend more money on my supplies I'll have to get some different powders. Thanks for all of the info! I'll definitely be mindful
