Winchester Highwall

I am getting a Winchester Highwall in 38-55.
Any load suggestions or bullets to try from experience?
It is the classic hunter model with 26" barrel and tang sight.

What velocity are you looking for?

If you want a plinker then the Lee 250 gr and 9 grains of Unique is hard to beat. It gives around 1300 FPS. My Wife's Win high wall in 38-55 consistently produces 1-1.5" groups at 100 yds with her at the trigger.

By all means measure the chamber to be sure that you have the right length cases for it; Starline sells both lengths.
