Hallo folks !
I have a mold lyman 311672 160 grs ,i want to use it for my sks and mosin .

I also like lyman 311359 115 and 311410 130 grs grs. has anyone used these molds and can tell me if they are accurate?

If the 311xxx moulds drop bullets large enough all of those moulds can be used and can be accurate in both the SKS and the MN. However, I find .312" to be about the smallest size that will shoot well in SKS and MNs. Some will do fine with .311 cast bullets but they are few and far between. Most MNs do best with cast bullets of .314 or larger.

Slug your bore's - I'm with Larry - most Comblock and even Brit bores are oversize compared to what 30 cal molds drop.

Well, if the 311672 isn't dropping the bullets at least at .313 then it's probably not going to give the best accuracy the rifle is capable of. If it drops .311 - .312 then with the right alloy and load it may give yeoman accuracy in the MN. If it's the only mould you've got give it a try.

All of the older 311359 molds that I have come across drop over .313. (Ideal molds - old stuff) All of the newer stuff , you're lucky to break .310. Keep an eye out for the older stuff.
