I just thought to see what brand of rifle brass everybody leans to for their loads. I like Lake City for my 308. And have only shot wcc and Lc in my 223 and both have served me well. You guys have a favorite?

What R1KK1 said.

But I use what I have.

I like Lake City and WCC for both the .308 and .223.

Right now I am using up the last of my WCC and TZZ in .45; I sure wish my renters hadn't made off with the 5 gallon buckets of brass that I used to have.

If I have to buy brass; I usually go with Starline for handguns, and Winchester or Remington for rifles.

I do have some WCC .300 Win Mag that is destined to become .358 Norma Mag in the very near future.

My favorite brands are the ones I can get for free, which means I shoot a lot of Winchester. I did get some Lapua and Norma with my 6mm PPC but I formed others from R-P small primer 7.62x39 I picked up at the range they all shoot into less than a quarter of an inch and after that I am the problem not the brass, load or whatever. I needed some 9 x 23 so I got it from Starline because you aren't going to find that on the ground but before I got that brass I turned the rims off a bunch of 38 super. I got some 450 NitroExpress from Hornady 20 loaded and 20 empty brass because that was all I could find at the time.

I have not noticed a lot of difference in life or accuracy from different brands except the nickel plating on FC 9mm seems to wear off.

I think the black nickel on some Hornady brass is awesome.

Again free is my favorite

I am serious I mostly shoot WIN I find on the ground, .357 Mag, 9 x19, 30-30, 7.62 x39, 30-06, .243 Win. where I live it is the most common ammo for all the common chamberings.

In .308 and .556 semi autos I like LC or WCC. In my bolt guns - Norma or Rem. for load workup. Whatever is available for anything else.

I agree on the top picks being lapua, then Norma, for me things blur after this as I usually end up with whoever makes brass for my caliber and sometimes you have no choice.

Nosler. Best brass I've ever used.

Whatever I have on hand or can get cheap if I need it. I'm cheap and am not a bench rest shooter. So I've found no difference at minute of deer accuracy.

1. Free
2. Cheap
3. Next closest to cheap

Yes I have a lot of Norma brass because I got it or the ammo cheap.
No I do not have any Lapua or Nosler brass and I don't really need it. They don't make brass for most of the rounds that I shoot.

Cheap does not mean poor quality. It means large lots of matching headstamp brass that I get for almost free.
Last choice is crappy brass and brass that is over priced for being an expendable.
With all standard brands that I use my brass is almost immortal.

For 308, free Federal Match grade. Since I'm a BRCR primarily - Starline and Winchester. For odd ball calibers like the 38-72, Jamison ($1.66 ea) and Bertram for the 9.5x47R ($3.89 ea and I have the last 80 cases in the USofA). Why these last 2 brands? Nobody else makes them with marked head stamps

For rifles I like Lapua for my .308 (just 1 rifle in particular) and Remington (R-P) for the rest of my rifles.
Starline for my BIG bore handguns.

+1 for free... at the rabbit creek ( Anchorage ) range there are folks with more money then brains so there is always a ton of new brass. and around hunting season its the best place to pick up free .338 win mag

I have never had the opportunity to load any Lapua brass, I don't like to pay much for brass either but sometimes if the bucket is low I'll splurge.

1 - Lapua
2 - Lapua
3 - Lapua
4 in 308 - LC Match if I am not using Lapua.
5 handguns and 45/70 - Starline
6 in my K31's GP11 brass. I have a good supply of Berdan primers. It's great brass.
