Fat Barrel #3

Anyone what the fattest barrel is I can put on a Ruger no3 and clear the forend hanger?

I recently rebarreled my #3 to 357 mag, using a fatter barrel. If I remember correctly, somewhere around 1.1 inches at the barrel hanger. Individual tolerances at the hanger may vary slightly, but 1.1 inches is a good ballpark figure.

Thanks GBertolet That 357 should be a good one. Does it have a long throat for heavy boolits?

I made sure of that. I ran a 357 maximum reamer, partially in the chamber, after I cut it with the magnum reamer. I now have a long tapered throat, which is good for any cast bullet.
