Does anyone have a good site for rifle and pistol ballistics? I have tried to google but I am not to impressed with the charts that come up.

If you don't like the pre-calculated data, try calculating your own:

if you have a smart phone, you can download the "Strelok" ballistic calculator for free from the amazon app store. I really like this app, as its super easy to use and saves a variety of rifles, scopes, and loads. I use this at the range regularly to help me dial in a scope out to 600 yards, and it saves the conditions (temp, altitude, pressure inHg, bullet speed corrected to current temp (super handy at 600-1000yds), speed of sound, time of flight, etc).

I then go home and copy all this information onto a spreadsheet I save in Google Apps. It works really nice, and saves me some time when I need to evaluate various loads (I do all my group measuring at home). It also helps me adjust for wind (I use a handheld anemometer before a match) before a sighter round at 600. Keeps me from guessing for the first couple rounds, and helps me decide what wind flags to hone in on at for conditions.

There are a variety of different apps that do the same thing, but this is the one I have been using currently. I sometimes use the Hornady calculator if I want to evaluate the validity of a new bullet or boolit before I buy. This can also help you decide what rings you are going to need to buy, if you know how much elevation your scope has and how far out you need to shoot without a holdover.
