I bought several ingots from Rotometals really before I new for sure what I should be buying. So now I am trying to find a way to estimate what BHN I will get when I mix the ingots I have made.
For example, if I melt (3) two pound ingots of 1:30 alloy with (1) two pound ingot of Linotype will I raise the BHN up from 9 to say 12 by the addition of the Antimony in the Linotype? Is there a easy to use table that shows this kind of calculation or is it just alloy it and test with pencil to see what you have made? Since it is a 4 part alloy can I just assume that I will now have 3% Antimony in the total alloy mix and then used Rotometals alloy formula?
