I guess that is a drawback to internet orders. You pay a $27.50 HasMat fee for shipping and would be too much for smaller amounts. I was getting under 3K for LPP, so I had been looking.

Still way to much for tula primers though! I'm waiting til this Obsama Alphalpha craze is over.

way over priced

Local gun store has been keeping primers in stock. CCI, Winchester, Federal running about $42.00 a thousand. I don't use tula but $34.00 a thousand in comparison is just about right. To be cost effective you would have to order the max possible.

I got 10k from them last month. 35.5 per k. They work as good as anything else I have used.

I bought Tula primers two years ago for $14 per thousand, glad I stocked up. And yes, they are good primers.

Look at gunbroker for primers if you want to see what gouging looks like. I will take tula @ 35 all day if that's all I can get. I guess it is always relative to your situation.

Everywhere I have looked the prices are up. I had lunch with my friend who owns a successful sporting goods store and he said all his sources and distributors prices are up. He is large enough that he has some purchasing clout, but is still waiting on orders regularly.

Sure Glad I had 30 K of primers in stock. Am low on a couple of powders I use often, but can make substitutes for now. I don't look for $15 primers or $12 powder again. To remind me I have a pound empty can of 4350 in the shop with a hand written tag of $1.49 from an old gentleman's shop and range named Roy Vinson. This is probably from 1959 and the minimum wage was still $0.50--changed to $0.75 in '60 or '61.

Just two months ago I ordered wolf small rifle magnum primers from Wideners for $85/5K. Don't know what their price will be when they come back in stock, but I doubt very seriously that they will be anywhere near $175/5K.

I ordered some of the Wolf "5.56" primers a week or two ago. They are at $135 per 5k.

$14 per thousand

That's about what I paid for them, but I do remember paying $18 for them once. If I really needed them I might pay as much as $20 for them, but would do without at any price before I bought their SPP's again. I've not had problems with the others.
