I notice some members have "boolit master" by there name and I wonder how one gets to be a "boolit master"?

By posting lots of stuff on this site. After a certain amount of posts (not certain of the number) you reach that level...Ray

I'm pretty sure Boolit Master comes with waaay less than 1K posts - since it already appeared by my name well before I hit 1K.

It'll show up eventually. Not sure of the post count needed. Shoot we have one guy here who got over 1000 posts his first month here! He said exactly nothing, but still had 1000 posts in about 30 days. Give it some time and it adds up.

Okay, so, how do you get the NRA thingy under your name? I'm NRA Life, have it down in my profile, but, it doesn't show up. What did I do wrong?

The way I took your post was that you could post any thing in S&S and that's not the case. Please excuse if I took your post the wrong way.

Not at all! I changed mine awhile back. I have not seen anyone else ever change their title. It is under user profile for those that want to try.

Shoot we have one guy here who got over 1000 posts his first month here! He said exactly nothing, but still had 1000 posts in about 30 days.

And he's still saying nothing.

Then there are the folks who've never even handled a wheel weight, let alone smelt one, let alone cast a boolit, let alone sized and lubed one, let alone loaded and shot one. . . who sign up, ask all the questions, then six months later they're by-God veritable experts and grizzled old casting and reloading veterans with gun-powder stains under their fingernails and a lead count in their blood approaching 50 and handing out "advice" to everyone newer than themselves. But. . . they've got "boolit master" under their name and that makes 'em credible.

I pay more attention to the content of the post, although of late I have been more and more attention to the "date joined" as well--especially in S&S.

We've got some members on here with post counts well under a thousand, but believe me, when they write something, I sure as heck sit up and re-read it and take it to heart because it's golden and almost always spot-on to the discussion.

I'll give that one an amen! I would be more than happy if my Pit post count was eliminated.

As far as "Boolit Master"? I believe in truth in advertising.

I found em.
I had three but traded one for a mold from accurate.

you get a whole bunch of the multiple posts in a thread and the whole thing [or just those posts] gets deleted and the post count goes down again.

I have to second this...

I try to keep my yap shut unless I think I have something important to say, or can help somebody.

I may have boolit master by my name, but I assure you I have a long way to go.

I learned a long time ago you don't learn much by listening to yourself...

Yea not all posts count and sometimes the post count goes backwards. It is best to not worry about post count and just add to threads when you have something worth contributing and ask questions when you need information and magically your post count advances.

Now if the number of posts I've READ counted up, I'd have a buncha gold bullet thingy's. I was looking at this site before I could join(6 years ago) and the little I know of casting boolits comes from here. Nowhere else like it - if you can't find a casting mentor close to home, all ya gotta do is start reading here.

Must have made a mistake with me! No where NEAR 1000, and most of them not very memorable. More questions than contributions I think........and a lot of them are sort of wordy. No novels yet though......

Some forum members have made a sad joke out of post count with stupid entries like "yup", "nope", "maybe", a series of dots or other one word burps like "RCBS" or "Dillon" etc. Worse are those who taunt the system with sentences spread out over 3-4 posts that say nothing. None of that horse-manure is instructive, informative, or of any use to anyone. Moderators ought to edit all that garbage, not post it and not give post credit. There are serious members aboard who have genuine interest in relevant matters and do not need to climb all over unadulterated bull-poop and meaningless drivel that clutters up the forum on a daily basis and says nothing. If someone is interested in just being in a comic strip or accumulating post count they should find another forum and go play on it. LLS

it's just some numbers, who really cares. [or maybe some do care]
if you don't like it put the person
<<<<< on ignore.
or lighten up a little. whatever.

Yep---just skip on by those usless garbage posts! A bit of humor is great for lightening up your day but for those who seem to need a high post count to make them seem knowledgable, when in truth they are not---is just sad!
