I got a Sig Sauger P220 Elite Dark.
Does anyone here have something familiar to it.
I wanted to clean the firing pin today along with the extractor. Your forced to remove the rolling pin to get the firing pin out of after the circular part is pressed down to release pin and spring.

1. Does one really need to put the rolling pin back? I did but was wondering for future purposes. Its a pain in the ***. The pin removal reminds me of a 1911 which does not contain a damn rolling pin but does have the plate that slides in front of the firing pin where hammer strikes.

2. How in the hell do you take take apart or get the extractor out?

Good tool I have used in the past is GunDissasembly 2 for PC, MAC, Iphone or Android. Need little app. It has a sig but its no where near close to mine when taking the upper slide apart.

I have a P220 and yes on all firearms it is recommended you put all the parts back on the gun when reassembling.

I mean that obvioius and now that i think about it the roll pin is just like the face plate that goes on the firing pin where the hammer hits. Any other information on taking apart the extractor. Video is just basic cleaning. 1911 owners know well how bad extractors can get inside yet look file right where it extracts the brass.

You will notice in the two links that more detailed disassembly than field stripping is NOT recommended... but

if it's like mine and you look closely, you'll see the extractor is bowed, and the outer edge of it is sitting in a groove on the side of the slide. Wedge a small flat-blade screwdriver between the extractor and the side of the slide, enough to pry the extractor out of the groove. Then, using a brass punch (or the end of a BIC pen, as that's what I had sitting on my desk, push the end of the extractor down towards the bottom of the slide. It will rotate down, and you can remove it.
