A friend of a friend has this deal. You tell me what you would pay for it. Keep in mind I'm not an expert and I'm getting back into reloading after being a few years out. Ijust had a 10 minute phone call with him and I did my best to keep up on the list. I keep hearing that Dillon presses are top notch, so here we go:

Dillion 550 press with magnum powder throw
A digital caliper
A small tumber with media
Several primer tubes
A Dillon maintenance kit
8 conversion kits
5 sets of Hornady dies, calibers unknown (he could not remember)
One dillon beam scale, one electronic
About 100 rounds of new brass, 308
Several tool heads for the press, maybe 5

He sent a pic of the press. It looked to be in good shape and used very little.

Lemme know what you think is a fair price. I know there is some variation based on the quality and brands of the items.

$1000 would be my offer if I needed most of the stuff.

With prices on here and other venues online, 1000-1200.00 is about right to purchase online BEFORE shipping

... You tell me what you would pay for it:

Dillion 550 press with magnum powder throw - $400
A digital caliper - Depends on brand/condition
A small tumber with media - Depends on brand/condition
Several primer tubes - $4 each
A Dillon maintenance kit -$15 if reasonably complete
8 conversion kits - $35 each
5 sets of Hornady dies, calibers unknown (he could not remember) - $20 per set, since you don't know more.
One dillon beam scale - $35
one electronic - depends on brand and condition. Dillon electronics are NOT guaranteed forever.
About 100 rounds of new brass, 308 - Look in Swappin' n Sellin'
Several tool heads for the press, maybe 5 - $20 each. More if they have powder dies. Much more if they have powder measures.

If you give him cash $900 to $1000 depends on the dies that come with it.

So now you gotta tell us, what was he asking?

I scored the deal for $550. It came with even more than he said. It was a monster deal. Sorting it now, will be selling off what I don't want in the near future. Killer score.

Think twice about selling off extra stuff. You are just getting back into reloading. Extra stuff may not be extra if you do more reloading. If you have the room to store it for a while you may find you want to use what you thought was extra or after a while you may want to sell it . probably won't go down in value.

I already have some of the items I got, but yes...looking forward there is some stuff I'm keeping because I see a time when I might use them...like 30-06 brass and dies.

Congrats! This was a great deal for a lifetime purchase. I got my 550B new in 1991 and it's never needed more than minor parts replacements. One caution- keep the primer slide very clean and use no lubricants on it. The primer slide is the most aggravating part of the 550. Even it is a minor problem in an otherwise great press; it just keeps the press from being perfect. Enjoy!
