What ever became of this project? It was in 08 or09. I would sure like to give some a go through my 625JM. Would be interested in buying a mold or unsized and unlubed.
I will keep an eye here the best I can.
Thanks
Jeff

It is a wad cutter with a little cone shape. Looks like a little grain bin to me.

Is this what you mean?
I use these in my 45/70 GG over a lite charge of Trailboss.
The shoot onto 2" @ 50 yds and even feed from the mag.
Not sure of the weight off the top of my head, but the drop at .4515"
with 2 parts 'stick-on' and 1 part 'clip-on' wheel weights

Nope, they have a cone shaped nose. If you could even call it a nose. I will see if i can find an old link.

Try that link. It was longer ago than I remember.

Now that I think of it that may have got started with a collar button mold discussion.

A bump for luck.

.4515 is a little small for 45/70. It typically uses .457 jacketed, or .458 for lead.

airc that started because Colby jack [chris] was looking for a light button collar mold to make like 160 gr wadcutters for a 625. [and his 1911 airc]
he had a mold from H&G or some boolits from a mold but wanted more production rate.
he even sent out a few of his boolits looking for something similar.
I just melted down the few he sent me about a month ago.

Rfr I am trying to contact Chris. It seemed like the thread and design was moving pretty quick the. It just stopped. If a 160-180 will fly well it would sure suit my needs. I didn't order the collar button mold because Chris spoke pretty well of the little wad cutter.
I know I could go with the saeco wadcutter but why does it need to weigh that much? Has darn near twice the bearing length from the looks of it than any other design.

It was this one. OWBM made them as I recall and you can still order one if you want.

i really like it in my 45acp

That sure does look interesting. What would be a practical application of that boolit?

Ditto to saving lead for paper punching.
Help me out I am kind slow. What is OWBM?

Old West Bullet Moulds, sorry about that.

there were some who were shooting competition in wheel guns and speed and accuracy was the thing. A light load no recoil in a revolver and you could crank out shot shots quickly.

I emailed them with a question. I will update if any one wants to know.

Blammer do you recall what the drill bit was dropping as to size?
He says he can get one made up in a couple of weeks, what ever I wanted.
He mentioned he had a 170 truncated cone. Any one have experiance with any of these?
Thanks
Jeff
