Evening guys.

I searched the forum and didn't find the answer, spent another 30 minutes on the web looking. My Bing-Fu/Google-Fu must be weak.

Can anybody help me with the dimensions ?

Thanks in advance,

John

If I remember right it is 7/8" - 20. But don't quote me on that, I haven't done one for some time now. It is significantly smaller than a normal MK V.

I had to build one for a guy in .284 Win, and that was a real stretch. There wasn't much metal left around the chamber and a lot of feed ramp work was required. Keep them to normal .470" cases and they're great.

.284 Win would have been tough to shoe horn in there.
It's a pretty small barrel for sure.

Anybody know definitively?

I know of only two threads that Weatherby uses, and they are both recorded in the Sticky on the Gunsmithing tips and tricks section.
The two threads that I know of are:
1.060 X 16 T.P.I.
and
.875 X 18 T.P.I.
Yours is probably the latter.
However, you'll know for sure when you unscrew the pipe right?

Yes sir.
Thank you for the info.
I currently have a .243 that may be swapping to a .338-06 A Square...
Found a barrel that should work.
