A friend of mine was cleaning out an older gentlmens bullet trap in his basement, and brought the leaqd out to me. I am sure that its all .22lr and possibly .177 pellets. Do you think that this is pretty near pure lead? Id like to cast round balls with it,if it is. If you guys tell me otherwise, ill use it up in my regular cast-bullet shooting. I might as well face it, i need to spring for a friggin hardness tester! thanks, mark

I'm not sure that you'd have too much of a problem if you are making round balls with pellet lead, but I'm not at all familiar with 22LR lead. You probably wont have problems anyway in a round ball as many have had luck even with wheel weights.

22 lead is pretty soft ( I believe 99%) and even if it is hard as WW's it would still work. 177 pellet lead should be pure.
