My shooting bud and I split around 550 lbs of lead that we got for $100. A local guy had the pile and just wanted it out of his shed (it needed repairs) and was actually falling thru the floor.

Once in a while I luck out...

Mark the date down on your calender as those days are rarer than birthdays & such
I just recently picked up 639 lbs from a friend who quit casting, but we talked about it for over year ,i thought it would never happen as most deals in the past with other people fall through !

I bet 1/2 of the bricks broke thru the 3/4" plywood floor and the rest of the pile was on top of it.

Its the same as people that sit on an old sailboat trying to sell it only to wanting or needing it gone and a lot of times its given away just to get rid of it.
I wish I could hit a deal like this once a year but I can complain in this instance. The guy doing work on the guys house had a front end loader we tossed all the bricks into and carried them to the truck. I have humped 5 gallon bucket before and pulled off handles and it sucks moving lead.

When my company moved me across country for a job the moving company would not move my lead stash. SO..I put 2 or 3 ingots in every box I packed. There is more than one way, etc.

Got lucky at work this week. Good news, there were two pieces of virgin Lead from an abandoned radiation monitor, bad news they each weighed 60 #. Luckily they were 23" x 23" x 1/4" so I could just carry one under my arm to a cart, then get them out to my car. Transport is definetely an issue with Lead finds.
