OK about to place an order for wads and cards for 12 and 20g roundball loads. I plan to try the trap commander per AJ's advice I think his advice is worth investing 7.00 in wads or just use them in other applications those mini ball loads look awesome. At any rate BPI suggests their light brush wads for roundballs. Anyone use these with success? They sure look like they ought to work but I have been wrong about things looking like they should work in my head and just plain fail. I know it is like 20 bucks for this ride for the brush wads but that is another lee Mould that I could buy we are talking about that I could fund. Let me know eh?

Good morning ButtonBuck, life is short and this hobby is suppose to be fun, great fun, so why don't we get to the business and start loading right away.

We will change a few rules for My Slug Shooting Family, while keeping perfection and accuracy in mind.

1. When loading Slugs/RoundBall always use new straight walled hull, like Fiocchi and Federal,
re-use hulls for all other shotshell reloading.
2. Raise your Slug/RB to let it stick out a bit like this:

we want to 6 point fold crimp instead of roll crimp, and want our slug/RB to push open the crimp and keep our wad petals from being mangled, let the wad petals trail behind a bit, besides the wad petals can't push open your roll crimp without ripping in the process, they are not made strong enough to do so.
3. Lately I have been using 3-.125-28 nitro cards below the .575" RB in wad and one .125-28 in the wads base cavity to help keep the burning powder gases from damaging the wads like this:

just the way in the picture on the right.
These slugs and round ball babies are our babies and we need to do any thing and every thing to protect them for the sake of accuracy!

Go ahead and order your Trap Commander wads and let the picnic at the range begin, the best $7 you will spend.

All of you who have gone on my Face Book page and liked it I'm indeed greatful to you.
