My Daughter hit a yard sale this weekend and knowing of my like of like of things projectile, bought two baggies of boolits DANDY.
BUT, the oddness begins!

76 grain

.320 , 8mm?

And here be the kicker, cast but copper plated and are lubed too. Flat based with two grease grooves.

Google has not been my friend nothing that looks like them comes up. Anyone seen or know of little critters like these?
Got a little over 5 pounds of them just short of 1290 by weight.
Thanks in advance
Curt

There were made of a copper alloy and didnt wieght much but the same lenght of what the real bullet looked like. I had these in 35 Cal. full case of 4895 in 35 Whelen or 358 Norma mag. and if you hit anything it was gone, They were called Clad- Alloy, Some more of yous may tell more, This was back in the 60s.

8mm Nambu??? It is the only thing I can think of that is close to that diameter and weight.

Is a picture possible?

Looked at the Nambu most were smooth no lube grooves not good indicator, anyway a couple of pictures I hope. The plate is just that, I cut one in half to show it, not sure it it will show in the picture but it is very thin, can make a groove in it with a knife blade so not like a wash.
Wish I had used the advanced so I could have previewed did not on last one kind of stuttered or something ah well hope the pictures show

Sure looks like a pistol boolit. 8mm Glasser? Nambu? There were several 8mm pistol calibers around.

Maybe 8mm Kurz?
Lets see, IIRC.....
Too big for nagant pistols,
There was a German 7.6something that went into the Mauser pistols of WWI,
I havent had enough coffee to come up with something clever.

National Bullet (Cleveland area) used to sell copper plated cast boolits. They are out of business now but you might be able to find their old catalog on line.

It could be some plated bullets for the model 1913 S&W 35 auto. Most were usually around .313 to .316 diameter. But with the copper plate, I guess it's possible to be up around .320. Most of the old 35 auto loads were most common in 76gr & 78 gr.

Also like Mk42gunner said, could have been marketed for the 8mm Nambu. Just a lighter load. Ive seen the 8mm Nambu usually from 83 gr up to 110 gr

You could send them through a Lee push thru die and size them to .314, to shoot in a .32 S&W or .32 mag...Ray

I bet if you check around, someone who reloads 32-20 would like them.

They resize without a problem, will go to .311 with no signs of deformation, I worried about the copper. Not sure what kind of push they will take or if the twist in the old 7.65 will stabilize the little thing but think I will try a few anyway.
