I bought a lee #4 buckshot mold a while back and am having problems with it. I've also got a 000 buck lee mold, and that one casts great.

The #4, I've cast with it three times now. The first attempt was a total failure. Found out here that they like to be run HOT. Got it, next attempt I got good fill out but couldn't get them to drop from the mold unless I beat the hinge bolt hard. Too hard for the mold to be useful.

I really sat down with the mold and did a good Lee-meeting job. I tried it again today and the cavities are still extremely sticky. I even tried smoking the cavities, which didn't help one bit.

One other thing on the #4 buck mold, the pellets are really fused together. I've got to use side cutters to get them apart. My 000 buck mold pellets basically fall apart with my fingers. Do the pellets normally have to be cut apart?

I'm about to throw the #4 buck mold out, anybody got any tricks that worked for you?
