Does anyone use Titegroup powder in a 44 DE? How well does it work?

We never tried it Vic, just stuck with 296. Seems to need enough power to function.
Someone should know, be of interest for us too.

With a 240 grn JHP and 9.0 grns of powder it is developing 33,500 cup. This sounds like plenty to work the action but I was just wondering if anyone had used it before. If I can get away with using less then half the powder that I would use with 296 or 2400 I will be in for a few pounds.

When are you going to bring that thing over to shoot?

Maybe next trip. Do you have any tarp to put down? I hate losing brass.

What you can do and this is what I do is for what is on the data and use the powder I have on hand and load 5 to 6 of each that is on the data and then I bump it up .1 of tyhe starter loads and then see what one shoot the best and then go with that one to fine tune it to what I am looking for .Each gun shoot different then the others. That us what I do if it helps you .

IM pretty sure Tightgroup will work in your DE !
I use alot of TG in my 44 revolvers for cast bullet loads from 850 up to 1,000 fps and you can go higher if needed up to perhaps 1,200+ fps for a max load
Load a few up and try them, its really the only way to know for sure.

As of right now I have no Titegroup. I currently use W296 and Alliant 2400 for the DE. I have tried Unique, but the pressures are to low to work the action. The pressures on the Titegroup at the starting load are 3000cup higher then 296. I am just wondering if anyone has actually used it. As I said earlier, if I can get away with 10 grns of powder vs 22 to 24, I am all for that.
